Lactobacillus murinus L1 was isolated from faeces of a Wistar rat and initially identified on the basis of Gram staining, catalase test and carbohydrate fermentation pattern as determined by using the API 50CHL kit (bioMérieux, Marcy l′Etoile, France).
Lactobacillus murinus is the correct name if this species is regarded as a separate species within a separate genus Lactobacillus. See also: Publication: Klein G. International Committee on Systematic Bacteriology. Subcommittee on the taxonomy of Bifidobacterium, Lactobacillus and related organisms.
Cervantes-Barragan et al. found that a particular species of probiotic bacteria Laktobacili (lat.Lactobacillus; lac, genitiv lactis: mlijeko + bacil), rod grampozitivnih štapićastih bakterija koje šećere razgrađuju u mliječnu kiselinu fermentativnim putem. S pomoću pojedinih vrsta laktobacila dobivaju se različiti proizvodi mliječno-kiseloga vrenja ( jogurt , kefir , kiselo mlijeko ). UniProtKB. x; UniProtKB.
In mice, Lact. murinus and Lact. reuteri represented 72% of the isolated species (Hemme et al. 1980; Reuter 2001). "Lactobacillus murinus" is found in greater proportion on mucosa than in the other sites, Staph. aureus predominates in saliva, and Strep. faecalis was found in greater proportion in tooth samples.
Lactobacillus murinus CR147, an isolate in the most abundant operational taxonomic unit (OTU) enriched by CR, downregulated interleukin-8 production in TNF-α-stimulated Caco-2 cells and significantly increased the lifespan and the brood size of the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans. In gnotobiotic mice colonized with the gut microbiota from old mice, this strain decreased their intestinal permeability and …
Normal Balb/c mice were sacrificed to study esophagus and stomach. Partial 16S rRNA gene sequencing, Gram, and P.A. Schiff staining allowed us to demonstrate that Lactobacillus murinus isolated from each animal colonize not only the epithelium of the forestomach but also that belonging to the distal esophagus. Name: Ligilactobacillus murinus (Hemme et al. 1982) Zheng et al.

Compared with Lactobacillus rhamnosus and Lactobacillus acidophilus, L. murinus was chosen for further investigation because it has the highest biotransformation rate. Our results showed that L. murinus could significantly improve the translocation of GL on Caco-2 cell models. Lactobacillus is a genus of Gram-positive, aerotolerant anaerobes or microaerophilic, rod-shaped, non-spore-forming bacteria.
